Farice has received terrestrial fibres on all routes in Iceland and Ireland to enable the services between Iceland and Dublin. The equipment needed to lit up the cable and create a protection ring between data centres in Iceland and Ireland over the IRIS submarine cable has also been delivered. Final installation work is taking place these days and will be completed in February for final testing. The IRIS submarine system is planned to be ready for service on March 1st.
Following the installation of IRIS our DANICE cable will upgraded to the flexgrid technology and services enabled on the new fibre ring network in Iceland using Ciena´s Wavelogic 5 technology.
