US marines train in Iceland
The troops are in Iceland as part of NATO's Trident Juncture exercise.

Armed soldiers from North Carolina are currently training in Keflavik in South Iceland. They are taking part in the Trident Juncture, a NATO-led military exercise
Deputy officer Misca T.Geter says speaking to mbl.is today that the first practice involves moving soldiers from the sea and to securing the airfield in cooperation with the Icelandic police.
Around 120 US soldiers were practicing in the secured area at Keflavik airport this morning. Trident Juncture 2018 is NATO’s largest exercise in many years, bringing together around 50,000 personnel from all 29 Allies, plus partners Finland and Sweden. Around 65 vessels, 150 aircraft and 10,000 vehicles will participate
