Building of the Nordic Pavilion completed at EXPO 2025 Osaka
The Nordic Pavilion, representing the five Nordic countries — Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden — has officially completed construction, approximately 40 days ahead of the opening of EXPO 2025 Osaka Kansai. To mark this milestone, a completion ceremony was held on Monday, March 3, 2025, attended by stakeholders and media.
Following official approval from the City of Osaka on February 27, the pavilion received its completion certificate today. Nordic Pavilion is the third international pavilion at EXPO 2025 to be officially completed. Nordics began the construction on May 21, 2024. The building was completed in just nine months.
The interior exhibits and furnishings are now being installed in preparation for the grand opening of the World Expo on April 13, 2025. The pavilion will also have a design shop and a restaurant, both operated by Finnish Logonet Oy.
The ceremony celebrated not only the completion of the pavilion but also highlighted the Nordic design philosophy, known for its simplicity and sustainability. After the event, the guests were given an exclusive first look at the pavilion’s interior through a guided tour, offering a glimpse into the shared vision of the Nordic nations.
Through EXPO 2025, the Nordic countries will share their culture, technology, and forward-looking vision, while creating opportunities for collaboration and exploring new possibilities with people from all over the world.

The Nordic countries’ efforts to realize a sustainable society offer solutions to global challenges, including for example climate change, digital connectivity and resource efficiency.”
