Oslo, November 5th 2025 – Norwegian EdTech and AI startup WeWillWrite is rapidly growing in the U.S. and has now raised €2 million in growth capital led by Skyfall Ventures and Spintop Ventures. The investment reinforces confidence in the company’s mission to make writing social, playful, and a core skill for the AI age.

Two of the Nordics’ leading venture funds, Skyfall Ventures (Norway) and Spintop Ventures (Sweden), lead the round. Existing angel investors, including Johan Brand and Jamie Brooker (co-founders of Kahoot!), Aurora Klæboe Berg, Gaute Godager, Fredrik Schjold, and Alexander Lund, also increased their ownership stakes.

A Movement for Writing Joy and AI Literacy

WeWillWrite addresses one of education’s most pressing challenges: students are writing less and with less confidence than ever before. In the U.S., 73% of students struggle with writing.
Meanwhile, artificial intelligence is rewriting the rules of learning.

The company aims to reverse this trend by helping students express themselves clearly, critically, and creatively – mastering AI as a tool, rather than letting AI do the work for them.

“Everyone is building better AI rockets – we’re building the platform that teaches the next generation to become rocket pilots,” says Daniel Senn, founder of WeWillWrite.

“It’s AI that supports the teacher, while the writing from the students is authentic,” says Bonnie Watson, a 4th-grade teacher, about the platform.

The platform transforms writing into a social, engaging experience. Students write short texts, give each other feedback, and experience mastery together. With a unique real-time feedback system and an ever-growing library of engaging prompts, motivation skyrockets: even students who once dreaded writing now ask to write more and proudly share their work.

“It has always been a challenge to get students to enjoy writing. WeWillWrite did this magically! It would be sorely missed if we lost access!” says Darby Hiebert, a 7th-grade teacher.

She’s not alone. In a survey of over 4,000 American teachers, done by WeWillWrite, many described the platform as magical and “not just a tool, but a movement”.

“WeWillWrite was founded by exceptional serial entrepreneurs with deep product and domain expertise, solving an urgent problem for a new generation. The company has already established a strong foothold in the world’s largest market
and is experiencing explosive growth,” says Preben Songe-Møller, co-founder and partner at Skyfall Ventures. “Together with Spintop Ventures, we’re proud to lead this round and support a team that is building something truly extraordinary.”

Rapid Growth in the U.S. – Global Expansion Next Momentum is building quickly. After launching in the U.S. and Canada in March 2025, WeWillWrite is already being used regularly by tens of thousands of teachers and millions of students, especially across elementary and middle schools.

“The founding team’s extensive experience combining pedagogy and technology is evident in how they’ve managed to stand out in the U.S. market. With my own background in scaling EdTech companies in the U.S., I look for exactly this kind of network effect within teacher communities – the kind WeWillWrite has successfully created,” says Helen Agering, Partner at Spintop Ventures. “Together with Skyfall and the rest of the investors, we look forward to collaborating and contributing our insights and experience.”

With new funding, accelerating user growth, and backing from some of the Nordics’ most experienced investors, WeWillWrite is now at the beginning of a global journey. The goal: to empower a new generation of students to think, express, and write confidently in an age defined by AI.

“In this phase, it’s been crucial for us to bring on investors who understand our strategy and can give us critical expertise, while also matching our culture and pace. With Skyfall and Spintop, we’ve found exactly that,” says Daniel Senn. “We’re proud of the trust shown by two of the most experienced investors in the Nordics, which confirms that we’ve hit a global need. We’re at the beginning of something big: a movement of teachers proving just how transformative the joy of writing can be in a classroom. We’re now looking for passionate colleagues who want to help us bring this movement to classrooms worldwide.”

The next step is strengthening the organization in Norway while expanding across key U.S. regions ahead of a global launch in 2026–27.

“WeWillWrite has cracked one of the toughest codes in education: they’ve found a way to get young people to write together, learn deeply, and experience genuine mastery. It’s rare to see technology create this much meaning and energy in a classroom. Daniel and the team are building something that will leave a mark, and it feels both important and inspiring to be part of this journey,” says angel investor Johan Brand, co-founder of Kahoot!
