The preliminary planning of the construction has covered, among other things, regional and landscape planning, architectural design, structural design, and building services engineering. This phase has resulted in comprehensive plans and materials that can be used to proceed with applying for a building permit, tendering for the construction contract, and preparing the final investment decision on the construction of the plant. The aim is to start construction of the carbon dioxide capture plant after the investment decision and to commission it in 2028.

The preliminary design for the construction has been carried out by Ramboll Finland Oy, which is part of the international Ramboll Group. The group’s Danish unit, Ramboll Denmark A/S, is acting as the construction consultant for the project.
