🇫🇮 Airvolve and Maverick Defence Oy sign letter of intent for 10 Airlift-U500 aircraft delivery

Vilnius, Lithuania – June 2025 – Airvolve and Maverick Defence Oy have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) for the procurement and deployment of 10 units of Airlift-U500 aircraft in Finland and Sweden, with initial deliveries scheduled for mid 2026.

Under the terms of the agreement, Maverick Defence Oy, a leading Finnish defence systems provider, will serve as Airvolve’s authorized distributor and agent in both markets, supporting sales, demonstrations, training and operational integration efforts.

Airvolve, the developer and manufacturer of the Airlift-U500, has committed to achieving a production output of at least 100 units by the end of 2026, alongside a comprehensive sustainment package including spare parts and modular add-on components.

The Airlift-U500 is a hybrid-electric, autonomous vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft designed for rapid tactical resupply, casualty evacuation and high-mobility missions in contested or hard-to-access environments. With unmatched performance in its weight class, the U500 offers a modular payload system, low acoustic footprint and highly automated flight operations.

Airvolve unveiled the Airlift-U500 in May 2025 as part of its push into the tactical unmanned cargo segment.
