– We believe that a local presence in this dynamically expanding market is of great importance. We want to be ready to deliver to our customers globally and this is a first step into KSAT expansion in Asia, Rolf Skatteboe says.

Strong relationships in Japan

KSAT has supported JAXA and other Japanese satellite owners and operators in the past and has now a strong relationship with JSAT through our strategic partnership as well as supporting the fast-growing space industry in Japan.

“The successful partnership and cooperation with JSAT will be further enhanced by working more closely together to support the Japanese space missions and by being part of the Japan space industry future” he says.

The office will be led by Kenneth Olafsson, Head of KSAT Asia, Representative Director for KSAT Japan, who has managed the commercial business for KSAT in the region for the last 14 years. He looks forward to relocating and starting this new chapter for KSAT.

In addition to open an office in Tokyo, KSAT is expanding the ground network capabilities by including two sites in Hokkaido and Okinawa, in partnership with JSAT.
