🇮🇸 Sjávarklasinn: Ideas on the Arctic Horizon

181

A group of multidisciplinary professionals gathered in Bergen at the end of May for the Arctic Bio Hack, hosted at the Bioregion Institute and organized by VIS and KLAK. The Iceland Ocean Cluster was represented by our innovation project manager, Benedek Regoczi. We were also pleased that Aya Youssef and Christian Issa, winners of the 2025 Copernicus Ocean Hackathon, were able to join the event as well.

During the idea accelerator, the experts were busy exploring low-hanging fruits and trying to adapt the 100% Fish program in collaboration with Havland, which engages in sustainable land-based cod farming. 100% Fish represents an ongoing effort to use seafood more efficiently and to continuously identify opportunities to boost sustainability and reduce harmful emissions.

As part of the event, the Iceland Ocean Cluster had the honour of sharing the story of the 100% Fish program in a mentoring session. This event was a perfect example of multidisciplinary collaboration and how people benefit from sharing their experiences and knowledge.
