Nunatsiaq News wins best overall newspaper in regional newspaper awards
We’re delighted to congratulate our Canadian partner publication Nunatsiaq News on a remarkable night at the Quebec Community Newspapers Association’s annual awards, where the paper was named Best Overall Newspaper among 11 entries, for the second year running, and won eight awards out of 22 nominations.
The credit was widely shared. “There are a lot of fingerprints on the awards we won this year,” said managing editor Corey Larocque, and the judges agreed, with one noting that Nunatsiaq News is always beautifully put together, with impactful stories and quality pictures. Reporter Nehaa Bimal took home two awards for her environmental and agricultural reporting, Arty Sarkisian won for his coverage of Qikiqtarjuaq’s deepsea port, and longtime columnists Kenn Harper and Ann Hanson were honoured for their historical and feature writing.
