🇺🇸 Alaska Forum 2027 to convene Alaska and Arctic professionals in Anchorage, February 1–5

Anchorage, Alaska – September 30, 2026
The Alaska Forum 2027 returns for the 29th year on February 1–5, 2027, at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage, bringing together community leaders and operators from industry, business, and federal, state, and Tribal governments across Alaska and the Arctic for technical training, professional development, and collaboration on the issues facing the region.
Broadened scope and expanded programming
AF2027 is broadening the range of people and perspectives at the table without moving away from the environmental professionals and partners who built the Forum. Foundational programming continues for environmental professionals, Tribal environmental programs, regulators, consultants, scientists, engineers, contractors, and communities. Alongside it, the 2027 program expands the conversations around issues that increasingly intersect with environmental work: energy, resource development, public health, emergency preparedness, infrastructure, workforce, rural communities, fish and wildlife, subsistence and food security, and the Arctic.
These issues do not exist independently of Alaska’s environment. The Alaska Forum brings the people working on solutions into the same rooms for a week of learning, connections, and important conversations.
What to expect
Attendees can expect more than 100 technical and professional sessions across five days, keynote speakers, environmental and regulatory updates, sessions on emerging issues, exhibitors from across the state, and connections across Tribal, government, business, nonprofit, and community sectors. Sessions draw on technical expertise, Indigenous Knowledge, and direct experience from communities across Alaska and the Arctic.
AF2027 will include a week-long grants training track for Tribal environmental programs, nonprofits, and community organizations that manage federal awards, covering grant writing and grant administration and leading to a certificate of completion.
Call for presenters and registration
“The hard problems in Alaska and the Arctic don’t get solved by one sector talking to itself,” said Kurt Eilo, Executive Director of Alaska Forum. “Getting parties from all sides of an issue into the same room, working toward building collaboration and understanding, is a critical part of finding solutions that hold up for communities across the region.”
The Alaska Forum is currently seeking presenters, subject-matter experts, and session proposals. Submissions close October 16, 2026. Registration is open for attendees and exhibitors. Registered attendees will also have access to Virtual Technical Sessions in December and January, ahead of the conference.
For nearly three decades, the Alaska Forum has been the state’s largest cross-sector gathering of the people working on the challenges facing the state and region.
