🇸🇪 Oplane raises $5.2 million to build security into AI-first development
Malmö, Sweden – June 2, 2026 – Oplane today announced it has raised $5.2 million in seed funding. Seed Capital led the round, with participation from Icebreaker.vc and angel investors from Neo4j and Google. The funding will be used to make secure software the default for teams building at AI speed.
Almost every engineering team Oplane works with is adopting AI coding tools, from enterprises and Big Tech to AI hypergrowth startups. They’re not just shipping faster; they’re accumulating architectural risk at the same speed. AI coding tools are built to solve the problem directly in front of them, not to keep a system secure as it grows.
When code is written, refactored, and deployed at machine speed, the old safeguards stop keeping up. Human-led security reviews, manual threat modeling, and architectural sign-offs can’t run fast enough to matter. Vibe coding has moved from side projects into the core of enterprise engineering, and architectural risk now piles up as fast as teams build.
“I’ve spent years trying to solve this at scale with human capacity, and it’s impossible. It has to be addressed with agentic solutions, tightly embedded in how a team already builds. Secure development lifecycle is no longer a dream,” says Emil Kvarnhammar, Co-founder & CEO, Oplane.
Oplane is the automated security architect for the AI-native lifecycle. Instead of reacting to vulnerabilities after they ship, Oplane embeds security by design directly into the agentic workflow: it maps your architecture into real-time asset graphs, identifies system-level security requirements, and delivers contextual fixes straight into developer tools. Oplane secures the intent before it becomes risk, so AI-generated architecture is resilient by default.
Oplane reviews every pull request against your architectural threat model and posts findings inline, with one-click fixes for Cursor, Claude, and Prompt.
It’s already working in production. At Miro and Tandem Health, Oplane has scaled from a handful of repositories to several hundred, with thousands of threat models run in a matter of months. More pilots are underway, with new customers to share in the coming weeks.
“For any team building at AI speed, this isn’t a nice-to-have, it’s essential. The Oplane team pairs deep security expertise with real software-development experience, an edge few others have,” says Geeta Schmidt, General Partner, Seed Capital.
The new funding goes toward scaling go-to-market and deepening integrations with the tools teams already build in: Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot. Oplane is also growing the team with senior hires across software engineering, security, QA, and go-to-market.
“If you’re building at AI speed, we want security that keeps up with you. That’s the company we’re building from Malmö, and this round lets us build it faster,” says Emil Kvarnhammar.
