🇸🇪 AFRY strengthens its capabilities to support the defense sector with new segment
April 1, 2026
AFRY is establishing a dedicated Defense segment to strengthen its strategic focus on security and resilience across the Nordic region. Building on 70 years of experience in the sector, AFRY brings together its technology and engineering expertise to better support clients and partners in the defense sector.
Geopolitical unrest and global instability have highlighted the need for stronger security and total defense across the Nordic region. To address these complex challenges and meet the growing demand for resilience and defense services, AFRY now consolidates its defense capabilities into a dedicated segment. The segment will continue to build on AFRY’s long-standing partnerships with defense authorities and industries, delivering cross-disciplinary expertise in engineering, cybersecurity, digitalization, and resilience.
“Defense has been an important part of AFRY’s business for a long time. We are already a leading provider of engineering and advisory services within total defense and resilience, as nearly all AFRY segments contribute from their respective perspective. This unique set of expertise positions AFRY to take a leading role in the Nordic region,” says Nicholas Oksanen, EVP and Head of Global Division Industry.
With strong experience supporting both civil and military preparedness, AFRY delivers solutions that are in line with regional security requirements aimed at strengthening national readiness, protecting critical societal functions, and enhancing resilience across energy, industry, and public infrastructure.
The new Defense segment is a part of Global Division Industry as of April 1, 2026.
AFRY provides engineering, project management, and advisory services that enable the energy and industrial transition and strengthen resilience in society.
