Now, Fortum has signed a development agreement (SSDA) with DayOne and will continue the work initiated in 2024. The Municipality of NurmijƤrvi and DayOne have also initiated the process for a preliminary land sale of the Sudentulli site. According to the agreement between Fortum and DayOne, Fortum’s role in the Sudentulli project is to support the smooth progress of DayOne’s project development, including preparing the site for investment. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}

ā€œThese types of projects play a key role in driving electrification and digitalisation in our societies. Early-stage site development by zoning and securing grid connections can speed up the implementation of a data centre project for the actual operator by 1–4 years. Fortum’s local knowledge and expertise in large projects make us an excellent energy and project development partner for international operators,ā€ says Urs Pennanen, Senior Vice President responsible for Corporate Customers at Fortum. :contentReference[oaicite:4]{index=4}

Driving decarbonisation in industries and delivering reliable, low-carbon energy are at the heart of Fortum’s strategy. Fortum is uniquely positioned to help energy-intensive industries find sites quickly where they can build their new, low-emission operations. :contentReference[oaicite:5]{index=5}
