🇩🇰 Myriad Defence joins forces with Final Frontier to create €100 million defence tech fund

September 21, 2026
Final Frontier and Myriad Defence have announced they are joining forces to create a stronger platform for early-stage defence tech investment in the New Nordic region. The merger combines Final Frontier’s defence industry and geopolitical network with Myriad’s base of world-class Nordic founders and operators.
Why now
Europe is rearming. For the first time in a generation, the continent is spending at scale on national security. Ukraine is proving every day that speed, software and small teams decide outcomes on the modern battlefield. The technologies that will defend Europe over the next thirty years are being invented now. Private investment capital is essential.
In May 2026, Final Frontier (founded in late 2024) and Myriad (launched in August 2025) compared notes and found that the New Nordic region does not lack talent, technology or ambition. However, there is still an urgent need for more capital in early-stage defence tech, and most investors are too small to effectively support companies navigating the defence tech playbook.
The merged platform
Together, the combined fund will help founders at every stage: from early building to organisational scaling, from access to specialists to navigating the sector’s complex procurement cycles. The platform is targeting €100 million for Final Frontier Fund II, backing pre-seed and seed stage defence tech across the New Nordics and Ukraine, with a first close by the end of the year.
The combined portfolio already includes 15 companies from the first year of operations. The platform aims to deliver exceptional returns while being a leader in shaping the New Nordic defence ecosystem.
About the funds
Final Frontier was founded by former Seed Capital GP Niels Vejrup Carlsen. The €4.5 million first fund closed in May 2025 and was supported by investors and industry leaders including former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
Myriad is an early-stage New Nordic defence fund launched in August 2025 by operators with proven scaling experience, including Alexander Aghassipour, who took Zendesk from startup to a $1.7 billion IPO and $10.2 billion acquisition, and Klaus Nyengaard, who grew Just Eat from 35 employees to a category-defining IPO.
